Silent Auction

After a very successful 10th Annual Award-Winning Great Lakes Grand Prix, Visit Michigan City LaPorte was able to provide a fiscal boost to Michigan City Emergency Management Volunteers with the proceeds from the GLGP Silent Auction.

Their mission is to minimize the impact of catastrophic events on our community. When nature or man-made disaster descends upon Michigan City, Emergency Management Volunteers are activated to provide emergency services to the community and they are invaluable when it comes to keeping everything and everyone safe and running smoothly during the Great Lakes Grand Prix, the Boat Parade and Taste of Michigan City.  In 2018 LPCCVB presented the volunteer group with a check in the amount of $2,463. The money was raised through an annual silent auction that takes place at the Great Lakes Grand Prix on Sunday each year. The volunteers do amazing things for the race, parade and the entire community. In 2019 Great Lakes Grand Prix will celebrate their 11th anniversary on August 1-4. This is the CVB’s signature event and we could not do it without Michigan City Emergency Management.

We encourage you to consider taking advantage of this opportunity to promote your business by donating to the silent auction.  We are especially interested in overnight stays and dining coupons that will encourage visitors to return to our community. The silent auction will run Sun, Aug 4 from 10am-2pm at the Washington Park Boardwalk.
